If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind experience look no further than Get Up and Go Kayaking! They have 100% clear kayak tours all over Florida!🚣🏼‍♀️💦 Their Shell Key location is definitely one of my favorites! A kayaking adventure right outside of Tampa Bay and St. Pete Beach!☀️

When you reserve your spot on the tour they’ll have you sign a waiver in advance (through e-mail). And if you’ve never been kayaking before no worries! Their tours are guided by professionals and they are for everybody, kids too!

The meeting spot for their Shell Key tour is at Billy’s Stone Crab restaurant, you can park in their parking lot to the left of the restaurant. They ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your tour time, and they’ll only wait up to 15 minutes after your tour time for you so make sure you’re courteous to everyone else on the tour and you show up on time!

Once you arrive walk towards the restaurant and you’ll see a wooden walkway that will lead you to the docks behind Billy’s. There’s usually a sign for Get Up and Go Kayaking outside too, so you can’t miss it! As you get down to the docks you’ll see the clear kayaks and your guide waiting for you!

🌟Due to COVID-19 they ask that all guests adhere to social distancing and that you wear a mask getting on and off the dock.

They do provide dry bags to keep all your belongings safe while you kayak, which I think is awesome!👏🏼 So make sure to bring your phone or camera for some pictures! They also have free water bottles too just incase you forgot to bring one!💦

Along your paddle be sure to look out for dolphins, manatees, pelicans, starfish, conch and all sorts of marine life! I’ve taken this tour 2 times and have seen dolphins both times!🐬🤩 One of our tour guides, Amber, also found a huge conch shell on our way out that we passed around and all got to hold!🦪

Their clear kayaks make the adventure that much better because you can see everything beneath you!

On the tour there are several picturesque stops along the way and the tour guides are more than happy to take some photos for you! The best photo op at Shell Key is definitely the shell tree! It’s tradition if you find a shell with a hole in it to hang it on the tree for good luck!🐚✨

The first time I took their tour to Shell Key last summer (2019, when it was new) it was very private, we were the only ones on the island! But since then Shell Key has gotten pretty popular! So there was some other people and boats hanging out there, it was still pretty private though compared to some other spots around.

The water is sooo incredibly clear and you can see St. Pete beach in the distance. I could even see the gorgeous Don Cesar hotel!🤩💕

After hanging out on the island for about 30 mins. It started to rain and we took cover under some Mangrove Tunnels. It was so cool kayaking through them! The rain only lasted about 10 minutes and then the sun was out shining bright again like nothing ever happened.. gotta love Florida weather!😜

& don’t forget if you enjoyed your ride to tip your guide! not your kayak 🤪

• Bring a towel if you plan on swimming
• Dress appropriately (bring a swimsuit, a jacket if it’s chillier)
• Water, gotta stay hydrated! (if you forget they have you covered though!)
• Cash to tip your tour guide

Kayaking with Get Up and Go Kayaking is one of my favorite Florida adventures!🤩💦 Their tours are always so much fun and their guides are top-notch! It’s the perfect weekend activity and is truly a different kind of experience that everyone can enjoy. This is one thing that should be on everyone’s Florida bucketlist!🙌🏼
