Checking in
When you arrive on the property you’ll take a little walk down this beautiful walkway until you reach the office, and this is where you’ll check-in for your stay. This is also where you will be greeted by the Casa Morada kitties!🐱 We had the pleasure of meeting 2 of them and making friends with one, named Morada, that slept in our room every night of our stay.🥰

Rooms
On the property there are 2 guesthouses, the Garden House and the Seaview house. We stayed in the Garden House (the front building). All of the suites are themed and have cute handmade plaques outside of them that go along with the name of the room. Such a nice touch!

Each suite at Casa Morada is uniquely gorgeous with a mix of Mexican antiques and a beautiful, bright, all-white modern design. We had the pleasure of staying in the Moon room.🌙 It was clean, minimalistic and very spacious with a huge (super comfy) king bed! I also loved that the keys to the room were real keys and not a typical key card!

There was also a dedicated living area, completely separate from the bedroom. Here there was a table and couch along with a little kitchenette where they had a mini fridge, coffee machine and some storage space. They even had a few books in the room which came in handy for reading by the pool!📚

Our favorite part of the room had to be the lanai, which had an outdoor tub to soak in and a beautiful view of the gardens.😍 It was so nice to wind down the evenings sitting out on the patio with a nice glass of wine!

Every suite has its own beautiful outdoor space so no matter which room you get you’re guaranteed a cozy spot to relax! Some of the rooms have balconies overlooking the bay and others with a patio looking out into the lush greenery that surrounds the property.

At Casa Morada, a continental breakfast is included every day of your stay and it’s just a short walk to the Seaview house that overlooks the bay. Each morning there is an assortment of coffee and tea available for guests, along with bagels, fruits, yogurt, cereal, and hard boiled eggs. It was so nice waking up and walking barefoot in the soft sand to breakfast with an amazing view of the water!😍

Garden
Another special feature of Casa Morada is their garden, which is on the property right between the two guesthouses. I mean how gorgeous is this spot?😍 Filled with all sorts of beautiful, tropical plants and flowers, and a little pond. It also has a little seating area that would make the perfect spot to relax with a good book or to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. So peaceful!

Private Island
Casa Morada even has its own private island, complete with a pool, secluded cabana, bar and of course stunning views. And the pathway to get there, across this little bridge was no less stunning!🤩

It was completely gorgeous. The water was calm and peaceful and there were plenty of spaces to relax and soak up the sun!

Cabana Bar
Right by the pool they have a covered Cabana which is where you can come to grab a refreshing cocktail with a beautiful view of the Florida Bay, or get some light bites to enjoy while you lounge around the pool. They had items like salads, wraps, hummus + pita bread and of course what the Florida Keys are known for… delicious key lime pie!😋 (Note that if you order any food, they get it from a nearby restaurant so it may take a little longer. You can expect it to be about 30 minutes.)

We even spotted a manatee one day while sitting out there. So keep your eyes open for all the wildlife that is around!🤩

Activities at Casa Morada
At Casa Morada there’s absolutely no shortage of fun things to do! From water activities to sunset sailing, there’s sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. And the best part is that you don’t even have to leave the property!🙌🏼

Complimentary Yoga Classes
Complimentary with your stay are free yoga classes, which was a huge plus for me because I love yoga!🧘🏼♀️ They even have yoga mats in the room for you so you don’t have to worry about bringing one with you on your vacation. Yoga classes are held every Weds, Sat, & Sunday morning at 9am with Lauren @islandflowyoga right under the covered Cabana Bar by the pool. I was so grateful it was shaded because that Florida heat is no joke!😅

Lauren’s yoga class was great, we had a beautiful flow overlooking the bay. My mom even did it with me and she really enjoyed it as well. Highly recommend taking one of her classes during your stay. No matter if you’re a beginner or an advanced yogi, it’s perfect for all levels and it was the perfect way to start our day!

Kayaking, Paddleboarding, Bicycles
Kayaks, paddleboards and bicycles are all also complimentary to use during your stay (which is amazing!). I definitely took advantage of the free bicycles and made that my form of transportation for getting around the island. It was great just cruising to dinner every night!

Boat Tours
More info: https://casamorada.com/water-life/
At Casa Morada they offer customized boat tours daily, you can take a tour of the island or an evening sunset sail!⛵️

We had the pleasure of taking a ride on the Blue Mist with Captain Bill and his wife Elle! The Blue Mist is a very famous historic boat that was constructed in 1917. She was previously a NYC Commuter Yacht and has since been restored and living at Casa Morada for guests to enjoy! She is available for private charters, island sightseeing tours and sunset and cocktail cruises!

We decided to take a sightseeing tour of the island and wow was it incredible! Waiting for us on the boat were nice bottles of champagne and some light snacks, the setup was just beautiful! We really enjoyed chatting with Captain Bill and his wife, exploring Islamorada and learning more about the history of the famous Blue Mist! It was a beautiful way to spend the afternoon and we were even so lucky to see some dolphins, they came right up to the boat!🤩🐬
